Adobe have just announced the release of an officially supported AS3 Flash API for Facebook. There have been numerous unofficial Flash APIs floating around for a while now but this is the first official collaboration between Adobe and Facebook. The video above unites Adrian Ludwig, Platform Product Marketing from Adobe and Josh Elman, Program Manager from Facebook in a joint announcement of the new service.

This is huge news for Flash developers as Facebook guarantees one of the largest social media audiences on the Web. Facebook currently has over 175 million active users, and tapping into such a huge market could be a gateway to fame and possibly even fortune.
